Resources For Literary Translators
Reviewing Translations

At the 2026 conference of the American Literary Translators Association, I joined George Henson, Stiliana Milkova, Emma Murray, and D. P. Snyder on a panel titled Translators Reviewing Translators: The Give and Take of Giving Back. These colleagues and I believe translators are best equipped to provide reviews of translated literature that address the translator's work thoughtfully and critically, going far beyond merely naming the translator or reducing the quality of the translator's work to a single expression such as "expertly translated by," as has been commonly done. D. P. Snyder and I compiled a list of resources to share with our panel attendees, and I am pleased to share it now with you.
